The world renowned Swiss watch manufacture Girard-Perregaux has launched brand new model in their legendary lines, The Cat’s Eye.
Introduced in 2004, the Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye collection gained instant popularity among female watch connoisseurs. It was named “The Most Beautiful Women’s Watch of the Year” not long after its launch. After quite a long hibernation if you will, the Cat’s Eye watch collection for women is back. The 2011 version is even more gorgeous than ever with the bi-retro pieces. These pieces still revolve as much around the Cat’s Eye line’s sensuous and seductive aspects as the one released in 2004, putting the shape and curves of a Cat’s Eye as an inspiration to create every detail in its design.
The oval-shaped case is the “Cat’s Eye” and it is 35.40mm wide in 18 carat pink or white gold. The bezel is lined with 62 diamonds with more diamonds used on the dial for hour markers. The dials are made from mother-of-pearl plates in either a dark hue or natural shades. The date is illuminated by a halo and displayed in a window at 3 o’clock. The discreet small second dial is situated at 9 o’clock and enhanced by a radiating ray motif delicately traced on the dial. Each of the sparkling hour indexes is a precious set stone, with numerals sculpted and hand-polished before being riveted to the dial.
The new Cat’s Eye utilizes simple in-house Girard-Perregaux Calibre GP3300 automatic mechanical movement, yet offers a number of complications including a power reserve indicator, retrograde indicator, annual calendar, moon phase display and even a zodiac calendar.
