Otto, Samsung’s Personal Assistant Robot

South Korean company, Samsung is preparing their own personal assistant robot to rival the popularity of Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Echo. Unlike Siri and Echo, Samsung’s personal assistant robot designed to be more interactive and show a small screen to display facial features.

This personal assistant robot called Otto. Samsung’s Otto has capabilities like other robotic assistants. This little robot is equipped with a microphone and a speaker for receiving and answering questions. Otto also able to connect with any other devices, so that the user can control the state of the house from a distant place.

Samsung’s Otto also equipped with advanced features such as HD camera with facial recognition software, which allows users to interact with this robot. Otto’s face/screen can also show a number of different animations, such as rain drops to reflect the current weather. Otto’s face/screen also function as a security camera.

For now, Otto is a prototype and still in the development stage, but hopefully a version of Otto will be commercially available soon.
